The Georgian Parliamentary Bureau convened to outline the agenda for the upcoming plenary sessions scheduled from May 28 to May 31. Speaker Shalva Papuashvili informed MPs of several significant items to be addressed during this session week.
According to the Speaker, the agenda includes the Interpellation – the Minister of Economics and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili is reporting to the Parliament. The session week also includes the Ministerial Hour – MPs will hear the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, and the Minister of the IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze.
The Bureau took note of the application on the resignation of the Prosecutor General, Irakli Shotadze.
Based on the decision of the Bureau, the nomination of the President of Georgia for the candidacy of Ekaterine Ghazadze for the position of member of the Board of the National Bank shall be submitted to the respective Committees.
The plenary agenda includes the Draft Law on Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors, and Narcological Assistance submitted for expedited consideration. The Draft specifies the amounts of the substances subject to the special control as provided in Annex N2, and establishes new amounts for one certain substance.
The Parliament will also consider the justified comments of the President to the Draft Tax Code; and the Draft Resolution on the Endorsement of the Composition of the Parliamentary Competition Commission on the selection of candidates for members of the Board of Trustees of the Public Broadcaster.
