Bulgaria's support for Georgia's foreign priorities important, FM Darchiashvili says
Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili hosted his Bulgarian colleague Mariya Gabriel on Friday.
During the meeting, Gabriel underscored Bulgaria’s “firm support” for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, Georgian MFA noted.
The FM stressed that Georgia and Bulgaria share common European values and Georgia should count on Bulgaria’s political and practical support on this path.
“Bulgaria’s support for Georgia’s foreign priorities is particularly important,” said Darchiashvili following his meeting with Gabriel.
“We are confident that by the year’s end, we will celebrate yet another historic decision granting Georgia EU candidate status, which will serve as the foundation for the opening of talks on Georgia’s membership in the European Union.
This is a critical period for Georgia’s future in Europe since these decisions, which are strategic and future-focused, will firmly cement Georgia’s position among the family of European democratic nations in Europe”, said Ilia Darchiashvili.
