Bidzina Ivanishvili congratulates nation on Georgian Paralympic athlete Giga Ochchikidze’s success at Paralympic Games in Paris

The honorary chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, congratulated the nation on Georgian Paralympic athlete Giga Ochchikidze’s success at Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.

“No one doubted that the Paralympic athletes would continue the successful performance of the Georgian Olympians,” he noted.

Giga Ochkhikidze, a Georgian paralympic athlete, won a gold medal in Men’s shot put F53 in Paris.

Ochkhikidze also set a world record by putting the shot 9.66 meters.

The Georgian Paralympic team now has two medals. Earlier, Ana Japaridze won the bronze in taekwondo.

“Our Paralympic athletes constantly inspire us with their hard work and fighting spirit. The perseverance, determination and courage of each of them is an inspiring example for our society,” Ivanishvili stated.
