Jonathan Stoneman – Training for GPB journalists will be a good opportunity to talk about election reporting to be considered as a responsible and reliable source of media
At the training for journalists of Georgian Public Broadcaster, we will discuss important topics and issues that will help us to better determine what has to be done and this does not only refer to pre-election period – Jonathan Stoneman, Trainer of the BBC said.
According to Stoneman, pre-election period is a good time for changes and this will be an excellent opportunity to talk about how newsroom works, what the editorial standard should be and how to cover the elections so that to be considered as a responsible and reliable source of media.
“We will talk about universal values and journalistic ethics. I am not going to give instructions to anybody about what should be done. We will have discussions and will get to the answer to questions, among them to the difficult ones. At the same time, we will elaborate a document about the editorial policy based on international, universal values, though the document will, by all means, take into consideration the Georgian specifics and will unite all the best available and practiced standards,” Stoneman claimed.
Georgian Public Broadcaster starts pre-elections training for its journalists. The training will be led remotely by the BBC’s trainer Jonathan Stoneman.
