Georgia hosted the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkiye Tripartite Ministerial of Defence in the city of Batumi.
The meeting brought together the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Turkiye, Yasar Guler, and Georgia’s Minister of Defence, Irakli Chikovani.
During the discussions, the ministers addressed the regional security environment and current challenges, emphasizing the significance of trilateral cooperation in enhancing regional security and stability.
Irakli Chikovani reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to supporting peace and fostering constructive collaboration in the South Caucasus. The ministers also reviewed defence reforms and plans, highlighting the positive momentum of cooperation at both strategic and operational levels.
After the meeting, the defence ministers signed a tripartite protocol and delivered joint statements.
