The closing ceremony of the Army Camp set up at the Giorgi Antsukhelidze Sergeant Academy was held in the Kojori settlement and attended by the Defence Ministry and Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs representatives.
Deputy Defence Minister Grigol Giorgadze and Deputy Education Minister Nodar Papukashvili addressed the school students, focusing on the role of youngsters in the country’s development and raising patriotic spirit. The participants received certificates and symbolic gifts.
This year, the Defence Ministry hosted the Army Camp at three locations: Giorgi Antsukhelidze Sergeant Academy in Kojori, Colonel Besik Kutateladze Mountain Training School in Sachkhere and Sergeant Zaza Peradze Initial Combat Training Center in Akhalkalaki.
Over 2200 school pupils of 10th and 11th grades attended the camp activities within eight rotations. They underwent theoretical and practical training in military disciplines.
The Army Camp project was launched in 2023 at the initiative of the Defence Ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs with the support of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
