German Chancellor Angela Merkel has launched lessening of quarantine measures across Germany.

The social distancing guidelines will be maintained till May 3. Wearing of medical facemasks will be compulsory for citizens when traveling by public transport or while being in trade units.

Shops in the space of less than 800 square meters will be opened starting next week. The study process at educational institutions and schools will resume as of May 4.

There are 127 584 people infected with COVID-19 in Germany, 3254 people died.
