Ambassador of Turkey: If we don’t feel safe in our country, no matter how much money we have, it will have no value
Ataturk told Turks – when it comes to the homeland, all the others are details, – Fatma Seren Yazgan, Turkish Ambassador to Georgia said when commenting on US sanctions, imposed against Turkey due to the military operation in Syria.
Turkish Ambassador added that Turkey had to take care of its own security. As for economic sanctions the ambassador said: “If a country does not feel safe, no matter how much money it will have”.
“International relations are as follows. All countries have legitimate interests. Turkish security and its border protection may not be in the interests of all countries. We must take care of our own safety. We know that we are right. As for the economic sanctions, we are ready for it. If we don’t have a homeland and we don’t feel safe in our country, no matter how much money we have in our pocket, it will have no value” – ambassador said.
