Japan totally opposes to the change of Georgia’s internationally recognized borders, – Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Tadaharu Uehara told reporters in Gugutiantkari, Gori Municipality today.
As Ambassador noted it is sad to see how the local population is divided by new barbed wire fences.
“I am really concerned about the current situation. Japan totally opposes to the change of Georgia’s internationally recognized borders. Family division is a very serious issue for humans. So I really understand the affected families and have big sympathy to them and I hope that the situation will recover as soon as possible”, the Ambassador said.
The representatives of the diplomatic corps have arrived in the village of Gugutiantkari, Gori Municipality today.
Occupation forces resumed installation of barbed wire fences in the village of Gugutiantkari yesterday. The fence has been already fixed on the iron pillars. As a result, two residential houses were left beyond the fence.
Representatives of the occupation forces began the installation of artificial barriers in Gugutiantkari village on August 7.
