“I sincerely hope that next year we will celebrate International Day against Homophobia, together with all the Georgians freely”,  – Johannes Douma, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Georgia made the regarding comment at the rally held in front of the Government Chancellery.

“I’m glad that I’m here but it’s much important that we are here together to celebrate International Day against Homophobia. That’s the first reason why I’m here to celebrate this day. And the second reason, that’s why there are so many diplomats, because there is the feeling of security and that should not be here the feeling of insecurity. People, who celebrate should feel secure and free.  I sincerely hope that next year people will have free demonstration, celebrations of Day against Homophobia, together with all the Georgians. Secondly, I am extremely grateful to the Minister of Interior, who guaranteed our safety here and that’s very important. I sincerely hope that Georgia will be united behind freedoms that we celebrate today including the freedom of expression”, – the Ambassador of the Netherlands said.
