Ambassador Fischer: I worked for German gov't for 39 years, take instructions exclusively from FF - not from some fictitious 'deep state'

“We heard alarming testimony from families of detainees,” said Peter Fischer, German Ambassador to Georgia.

Fischer noted that “If Georgia stays on current path, it risks its EU future and worse relations with Germany. I give this honest assessment out of respect and friendship to Georgia, which everyone knows from me and which is well documented.”

“To be clear: I worked for German government for 39 years and take instructions exclusively from Foreign Ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany (FF)- not from some fictitious “deep state”.

Here I am shortly after swearing the oath to German constitution (w/ then State Secretary), 7 foreign and 4 home assignments ago,” the German ambassador wrote on X.
