Akhalkatsi wins U23 European Judo Championship, Kirakozashvili wins silver medal | Gyor 2018

The Georgian final was held at the U23 European Judo Championship in Gyor, Hungary.

Two Georgian judo wrestlers – Tamaz Kirakozashvili and Vladimer Akhalkatsi competing in the 81-kg weight category met in the final. Due to knee injury Tamaz Kirakozashvili did not show up to the final, accordingly, the title of European champion went to Akhalkatsi.

Today, in the 73-kg weight category, Aleko Mamiashvili competed for the bronze award unsuccessfully and took the 5th place.

Georgia national team has one gold, two silver and one bronze medal after two days of starting the European Championship.
