Otar Shamugia, Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, along with Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti Governor Papuna Margvelidze, visited the modernized family winery Tamani in Gveso, Tsageri Municipality.
“Supporting viticulture is a priority for us,” stated Minister Shamugia. “We are driving projects that encourage winery establishment, enabling growers in Racha and Lower Svaneti to process their own grapes and generate additional income from wine sales.”
Ekaterine Tsvariani, the owner of Tamani, received support through the Rural Development Agency’s programs, including a 50,000 GEL grant for equipping her cellar. She produces organic wine from the Tsolikauri grape variety, supported by the Program for Promoting Entrepreneurial Activities in High-Mountain Settlements and Preferential Agrocredit programs.
