Agreement on Cooperation signed between Belarus and Georgia

The President of Georgia,  Giorgi Margvelashvili and the President of Belarus,  Alexander Lukashenko have signed the framework agreement on cooperation between Georgia and Belarus. The agreement involves recognition of universal principles of international law, respect for sovereign equality and territorial integrity in internationally recognized borders.

Belarus and Georgia share common interests to strengthen friendly relations in all the areas and develop long-term mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to Tengiz Pkhaladze, Advisor to President Margvelashvili for Foreign Affairs, the framework agreement, signed along with other agreements, is of utmost importance as it defines a long-term strategy of cooperation between Georgia and Belarus.

“It is noteworthy that we have signed this agreement today, as a result of our 24 years of diplomatic relations. Most importantly, the agreement highlights Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty within the internationally recognized borders,”  –  Pkhaladze said.
