The Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Sichuan Province of the People’s Republic of China signed an agreement on the establishment of friendly relations.
The document was signed by the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, and the Governor of Sichuan, Huang Qiang.
According to the Georgian MFA’s press office, Qiang informed Darchiashvili of the Sichuan region’s potential in various directions, including green energy, high technology, and tourism. The governor expressed readiness to host high-level Georgian delegations in a bid to establish concrete and result-oriented cooperation between the nations.
On his part, Darchiashvili briefed Qiang on Georgia’s geopolitically strategic location, and its importance, mentioning the Middle Corridor and Silk Road project. Ajara region and its sectoral advantages were mentioned separately. The minister gave a detailed overview of Adjara’s sectoral directions, reads the press statement.
