According to Ukrainian media reports, Cabinet of Ministers withdrew the initiative on Saakashvili's appointment as Vice Prime Minister
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has withdrawn the initiative on the appointment of Mikheil Saakashvili as Vice Prime Minister from the Supreme Rada. This was reported by the editor of the Ukrainian news agency Censor Net.
According to media reports, the initiative has been blocked within the Servant of the People parliamentary faction. As the editor of Censor Net explains, the faction managed to collect only 140-170 out of 248 votes for supporting the candidacy of Mikheil Saakashvili.
At the same time, according to the editor of the agency, the President’s Office realizes that the failure of the negotiations on Saakashvili’s appointment will end in a scandal, so at the moment it is considering to make him a candidate of the Servant of the People on elections of the mayor of Odessa.
In addition, as the editor notes, the initiative on appointing Davit Sakvarelidze as the head of the State Bureau of Investigation is being considered. The initiative belongs to President Zelensky.
