A 40-year-old Georgian man has been arrested for attacking the Orthodox priest in Lyon, – French media reports.
As “Leparisien” reports, the arrested Giorgi P. pleads guilty and says he shot the priest on the ground of jealousy.
The incident took place on October 31 in the French city of Lyon. According to Reuters, a priest of Greek origin was closing the church when the attacker approached and shot him twice. The attacker managed to escape. The wounded priest was taken to the hospital.
