Abu Dhabi-Kutaisi-Abu Dhabi flights to increase to 10 weekly frequencies during winter season
The General Director of Georgian Airports, Irakli Karkashadze, hosted the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia, Ahmed Alnuaimi, at Kutaisi International Airport. Karkashadze gave the Ambassador a tour of the David Agmashenebeli Airport terminal and air traffic control tower, providing a detailed overview of the airport’s operations.
The two officials discussed the Abu Dhabi-Kutaisi-Abu Dhabi route, which will see increased frequencies starting in November. The Ambassador expressed satisfaction that Kutaisi International Airport has a direct air link to the capital of the United Arab Emirates, noting that the Abu Dhabi route ranks first in terms of passenger traffic.
“I’m pleased to visit Kutaisi International Airport today, which is a very beautiful and modern facility. We’re delighted that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, which currently operates daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi, will soon nearly double its services. This is excellent news, and on certain days, the airline will operate two flights per day,” said Ahmed Alnuaimi.
Currently, direct regular flights on the Abu Dhabi-Kutaisi route operate daily. During the winter season, flights from Kutaisi to Abu Dhabi will increase to 10 frequencies per week.
“Today, I had the honour of hosting the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia at Kutaisi International Airport. We toured our infrastructure and discussed future plans. It’s important to note that we currently have daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi International Airport. During the 2024-2025 winter navigation season, we will have direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi twice a day. This is crucial because the Middle East and the United Arab Emirates represent one of our primary segments for tourism. We will actively continue working to further promote this route,” Irakli Karkashadze stated.
According to data for the first nine months of 2024, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has transported over 115,000 passengers on the Abu Dhabi-Kutaisi-Abu Dhabi route.
