The Georgian penitentiary system will transform onto model of small-size prisons – Kakha Kakhishvili, candidate for post of Minister of Penitentiary, Corrections and Legal Assistance stated during the expanded sitting of parliamentary committees.
According to Kakhishvili, jails to accommodate up to 500 beneficiaries will be built in Georgia. He claimed that small-size facilities were easier to manage.
The parliament is listening to ministerial candidates today. The lawmakers will express confidence to the new government during an extraordinary session of the parliament on June 20. Membership of the government was presented on June 18.
