Restrictions on loans of the commercial banks to be enacted from today
In order to protect the interests of consumers and promote a healthy loan portfolio, starting from today changes have been made in the provision of “Concentration of loans in commercial banks and major risks” under the decision of President of the National Bank of Georgia – the National Bank reports.
According to the National Bank of Georgia, from May 7, 2018 commercial banks will be limited to provide loans without a full analysis of the solvency of clients. In particular, the total amount of such loans should not exceed 25% of the bank’s supervisory capital.
