Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Sunday opened a conference room named after Niko Nikoladze, a renowned Georgian writer, pro-European public figure, and the President’s great-grandfather, at the Georgian Technical University.
The opening event was attended by university professors and students.
Zourabichvili said, “next year we will celebrate [the 180th anniversary of] Niko Nikoladze’s birth. Moreover, for Georgia, next year will be the year of Europe, and linking it to Niko Nikoladze is right as all of his calls and ideas about the country align with the European approach.”
“Being a descendent of Niko Nikoladze is an enormous honor for me, but it also comes with a lot of duty and obligation, and I hope that I will contribute to the realization of his life’s goal – to make this nation and state stronger,” Zourabichvili underscored.
