Defense Minister Chikovani: Defense cooperation discussed with U.S. Senator and Congressman
The Minister of Defense of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani, stated that during a meeting with U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Mike Turner at the Ministry of Defense, the sides discussed defense cooperation, the experience gained over the years, and the results of this collaboration.
According to Chikovani, the meeting also covered ongoing projects.
“I emphasized that this cooperation is beneficial not only for Georgia but also for the United States. We discussed the ongoing projects that are proceeding as planned. Additionally, I expressed my disappointment and surprise that the Nobel Partner 2024 exercise has been postponed, but we are continuing our preparations for holding international exercises in 2025. As for the law on transparency, there was no discussion on that topic during the meeting,” said Chikovani.
