Zurab Abashidze – Georgian-Russian relations are at deadlock due to occupation

The Georgian-Russian relations are at the deadlock due to the occupation and no way out is feasible in short-term perspective – Zurab Abashidze, Special Representative of Georgian Prime Minister for Russian Relations said in Free Vision Program of First Channel.

“Russia is not going to revise its decision about recognition of Georgian occupied regions and we will never reconcile with this fact. The occupation continues and is creeping deeper. The so-called borderization keeps on and a wall is being built there,” Abashidze said.

Abashidze claimed that he wanted to be optimistic and give hope to the public but the result of the August 2008 Georgia-Russia war occupation and the unchanged situation was realistic.
