Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser imposed a citywide curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday as violent clashes between protesters and police over the death of George Floyd rising.
Mayor also activated D.C. National Guard to support the local police.
George Floyd, 46, died after being apprehended by police outside a shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
For the District of Columbia, @MayorBowser has ordered a citywide curfew that began at 11pm this evening and will end at 6am on Monday, June 1. Please adhere to the curfew at this time.
Credentialed media are exempt and may continue to cover events in the city.
