Wanted former head of Penitentiary Department handed over to Georgia

Wanted former head of Penitentiary Department Davit Chakua has been handed over to Georgia by Germany – Georgian General Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the information to Georgian Public Broadcaster.

Chakua will be extradited to Georgia presumably today. He has been wanted since 2013 charged for several criminal cases including provoking prison riot in 2006, torture of prisoners in 2012 and misuse of official power and duties.
