Vladimer Konstantinidi: International community does not tolerate illegal occupation of Georgia’s regions and condemns Russia's steps
The decision of Russian Federation is another illegal move aimed at integration of the Georgian occupied regions into its political and military space, which is continuation of Russia’s annexationist policy, – Representative of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Vladimer Konstantinidi said when commenting on the memorandum of understanding signed between the Russian Federation and the occupied Abkhazia on modernizing of so-called army of occupied Abkhazia.
Vladimer Konstantinidi explained that the decision of Russia to allocate additional funds for the modernization project is based on the so-called partnership agreement signed between the Russian Federation and occupied Abkhazia, which is fundamentally an illegitimate document.
“The international community does not tolerate the illegal occupation of Georgia’s inseparable regions and condemns such steps taken by Russia. Georgia uses all available levers, continues informing partners, actively uses international tribunes and formats in order to halt such actions from the side of Russia”, – Konstantinidi said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued an order aimed at modernizing the so-called armed forces of occupied Abkhazia.
