Vakhtang Gomelauri met Acting Ambassador of US

Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri held his first official meeting with the Acting Ambassador of the United States of America to Georgia Elizabeth Rood.

According to a press office of the Interior Ministry, at the beginning of the meeting, Vakhtang Gomelauri mentioned September 11 terrorist attack against the United States, which took place 18 years ago and expressed his condolences to the American people.

The Minister thanked the US government for the assistance and cooperation provided in various fields over the years.

Acting Ambassador expressed concern over the situation along the occupation line and reiterated unwavering support of the United States for Georgia’s territorial integrity.

The sides discussed ongoing projects within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, being implemented with the support of the United States.
