US hopes for close cooperation with new Armenian government

The US hopes they will have close cooperation with the new Armenian government, – says the statement of US Department of State.

“We thank Serzh Sargsyan for contributing to strengthening of relations between the US and Armenia. We hope that the process of defining his successor will be transparent, in accordance with the Armenian legislation and international obligations. We hope that we will have close cooperation with the new government,” reads the statement.

Serzh Sargsyan was elected the Prime Minister of Armenia on April 17. After several days of protest rallies, he resigned on April 23.
