US Ambassador: Since it is election year in Georgia, information security is as important as ever

“The US calls on Georgia to immediately adopt a comprehensive national cybersecurity strategy and action plan,” US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan told reporters at the Cyber Security Forum. “It will help Georgia to be better prepared, to eliminate risks,” noted Degnan.

US Ambassador said, “in this election period, information security is paramount.”

At the same time, Kelly Degnan believes there will be cyber attacks against Georgia.

“The United States has been cooperating very closely with Georgia regarding cybersecurity.  Since it is an election year in Georgia, information security is as important as ever. Voters can go to the polling stations knowing that information security is protected,” Kelly Degnan said.

Georgia’s first Cyber Security Forum is organized by the National Security Council and supported by the Government of Georgia.
