UNM: Nika Melia must be at negotiating table

The opposition United National Movement (UNM) party vows its position is clear, the party Chair, detained Nika Melia must be at the negotiating table.

UNM member, Khatia Dekanoidze, said on Monday that the current political crises should be eased as the government has taken responsibility in front of the citizens and the international community.

Dekanoidze also believes the international partners would give attention to the TV Pirveli story facts.

“Early elections are important in the framework agreement proposed by European Council President Charles Michel, but our position is clear, in any case, Nika Melia, who has been arrested, must be at the negotiating table,” Dekanoidze added.

The riot police detained Melia at the party’s headquarters on February 23. Melia has been accused of organizing mass violence during anti-government protests in 2019.
