UNM: GD to compromise before opposition takes up mandates

“The international partners clearly say that the opposition’s work within the parliament is better, but this needs concessions from the Georgian Dream,” the opposition United National Movement (UNM) member, Petre Tsiskarishvili, commented on the PACE Georgian election report.

“The opposition respects international partners, but has its opinion,” he noted.

“If the Georgian Dream does not admit the election fraud and schedule snap elections, the opposition will not enter the parliament. We respect international partners, but we have our own opinion. We communicate with our voters and act in the interests of the future of Georgia,” Tsiskarishvili said.

Earlier today, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) published a report prepared by the Rapporteur Tiny Cox. The report covers the monitoring of the parliamentary elections in Georgia. PACE election observation delegation concluded that Georgia’s parliamentary elections were competitive and, overall, fundamental freedoms were respected.
