Ukraine to close 1261 state-run enterprises

Ukraine plans to close 1261 state-run enterprises – Ukraine’s Minister of Economics Timofei Milovanov said in an interview with Censor.net.

The enterprises will be classified into 3 groups: those which fall into the first group will remain in the state hands, the enterprises of the second group will be privatized and the third group will unite those enterprises which will be shut down.

On October 2, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved in the bill, which proposes to abolish the list of objects of state-run property that are not subject to privatization.

The approved bill was designed to intensify investment activity, to ensure equal rights for all economic entities, citizens and the state regarding the right to dispose of state-owned objects, as well as to remove invented bans for the privatization of state property.
