Two people have been detained in relation to the recent explosion from a natural gas leak in Didi Dighomi, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the briefing before today’s Government meeting.

According to the Head of Government, everyone found culpable in relation to this case will be held legally accountable.

“We have suffered a great tragedy-a gas leak causing destruction and claiming four people’s lives, an underage child among them. Once again, I express my condolences to the families of the victims, and to our society, over this extremely painful tragedy. The day before yesterday, I instructed the law enforcements to carry out a maximally expedient investigation of this case and to identify the reasons behind the tragedy. I was informed a few minutes ago that, as of now, two persons have been detained. The investigation is underway, and I assure you that everyone found culpable in relation to this case will be held legally accountable,” – Mamuka Bakhtadze said.

Four people, including one child, were killed and eight others were injured as a result of a powerful explosion in Didi Dighomi district of Tbilisi yesterday.
