Traffic movement to be restricted on some streets in Gurjaani due to planned protest rally

In connection with the rally, the traffic movement will be restricted on some of the streets in Gurjaani for public order and safety reasons, – Ministry of Internal Affairs releases this information.

“The traffic movement and parking will be restricted on some of the streets in Gurjaani town, In particular: D. Guramishvili, Sh. Rustaveli, I. Noneshvili and Liberty streets starting from 09:00 on December 20. Upon completion of the rally, the traffic movement will be fully restored.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia calls on the organizers and participants of the protest rally to observe the law and to obey the lawful requirements of the police in connection with the planned rally in Kakheti. The right to assembly and manifestation is protected. However, it must be carried out in a peaceful manner and should not affect the rights of others and public safety.

It is not permitted to block the entrance of the buildings, highways and roadway without the grounds directly provided by the law during the assembly and manifestation. Besides, it is inadmissible to hinder the normal functioning of state institutions.

Any offense during the rally will be immediately responded by the police within the law”, – the statement released by MIA reads.

The court will discuss Davit Kirkitadze’s case today.
