Representatives of the tourism sector are meeting with the governmental economic team. The Georgian epidemiologists are also attending the meeting.

Managers of restaurants and hotels request to be allowed to resume work following safety recommendations.

According to Shota Burjanadze, founder of the Restaurants Association, the lockdown left about 300 000 people unemployed. The country is on the verge of social upheaval. He further elaborated that the reason is unclear for sea resorts open and ski resorts remain closed.

Erekle Kokaia, Executive Director of Inn Group Hotels, also urged for opening the winter resorts from February 1.

“We have responses to all challenges. We will maximally help the government to make the right decisions, and our cooperation will be mutually beneficial,” Kokaia claimed.
