Tengiz Tsertsvadze: Georgia will most likely receive promising antiviral medication Remdesivir in 2-3 weeks

In 2-3 weeks, Georgia will most likely receive the most promising and in-demand antiviral medication Remdesivir, which will further reduce the number of deaths, – the director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, Tengiz Tsertsvadze told reporters.

According to him, the government is conducting intensive negotiations in this direction.

“The country’s government is negotiating very intensively and soon, in 2-3 weeks, Georgia will be probably the first country in Eastern Europe to receive the most promising and in-demand antiviral medication Remdesivir. It has not been proven that it can really cure Covid-19, but it is the most promising among other medicines. In 2-3 weeks, this medicine will most likely enter Georgia, which will further reduce the number of deaths”, – Tsertsvadze said.
