Technical Inspection to become obligatory to entire auto park

The Technical Inspection will become obligatory to the entire auto park in Georgia in 2019. The inspection of light cars will take place in stages depending a vehicle’s registration date.

The technical inspection is not required to the cars under 4 of age. The 8-year-old cars or older ones will be subjected to the inspection annually. The lights, exhaust fume, brakes and electric devises will be checked.

The cost of the inspection for light cars is 60 GEL, while for trucks and mini buses – 100 GEL. Any violation should be corrected by a driver in one month. A repeated testing is free of charge. The violators will be revealed by the Patrol Police.

The first stage of technical inspection has begun as of January 1, 2018. It first referred to municipal transport means.
