Strategy Aghmashenebeli: Opposition to modify protest agenda if government compromises

A dialog, negotiations and the agreement through compromise are the only alternative to discharge the situation, said Sergo Chikhladze, a member of the opposition Strategy Aghmashenebeli party.

Opposition representatives believe that if the government takes a step to discharge the current political crisis, the opposition may modify the protest agenda. This includes concessions and the release of political prisoners.

“We are flexible and constructive and we reconfirmed this to facilitator ambassadors,” Sergo Chikhladze claimed.

The member of Strategy Aghmashenebeli said the opposition would talk about its demands during the visit of President of the European Council Charles Michel to Georgia. Sergo Chickhladze said that international pressure was a powerful mechanism.

The opposition will begin picketing the state institution buildings from March 2. Khatia Dekanoidze, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) party, announced the opposition plans at a rally in front of the Parliament building on February 26.
