State Minister: Government to work for release of illegally detained Georgian citizen

The Georgian government is working with all international partners to release the illegally detained Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze timely and unconditionally, said Tea Akhvlediani, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.

According to the State Minister, the occupied Tskhinvali court’s ruling to extend illegal detention of Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze to 12.5 years is “groundless and lacking legal arguments.”

The occupied Tskhinvali Court sentenced the unlawfully detained Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze to 12 years and six months in prison on February 5.
