State Minister discussed situation in occupied regions with U.S. Ambassador

Tea Akhvlediani, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality discussed the situation in occupied regions with respect to security and human rights with Kelly Degnan, U.S. Ambassador to Georgia.

Akhvlediani underlined the importance of U.S. support to Georgia’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and state sovereignty.

State Minister also expressed gratitude over the support of the US side to locals residing across occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions and representatives of ethnic minorities during COVID-19 pandemic.

Kelly Degnan reiterated the support of the US to a peaceful process of reconciliation and efforts of the Georgian government in the process of restoration of trust and connections with occupied regions.
