SSG Head meets NATO’s Assistant Sec-Gen

The Head of State Security Service of Georgia (SSG), Grigol Liluashvili Wednesday held a meeting with NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence and Security, David Cattler.

According to the SSG readout, the parties discussed SSG-NATO cooperation, currant developments in Ukraine and its impact on security situation both in Europe and Georgia. The officials stressed the need to continue NATO-Georgia longstanding partnership and strategic relations.

The parties also reviewed current situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. Grigol Liluashvili briefed David Cattler on current threats and challenges existing in the region.

“Georgia is one of the closest partners of NATO. We respect and appreciate Georgia’s substantial contributions and sacrifices to protect our mutual security. We also have cooperation with State Security Service of Georgia. Our work together protects our people. Partnership has never been more important,” David Cattler noted.
