Soso Tkemaladze elected President of Rugby Union

Soso Tkemaladze was elected President of the Rugby Union on Wednesday.

The Rugby Union presidential elections were held amid tension as former candidate Irakli Abuseridze’s supporters broke the police cordon and tried to enter the hallway but the police did not let them.

For the record, Abuseridze who won the elections on December 30, 2020, was not recognized by the National Registry Office. He has been boycotting the elections. His supporters consider the election illegitimate.

After the election, Tkemaladze vowed to promptly execute his plans. “I am ready to cooperate with everyone constructively,” he added.
