Shio Khetsuriani has withdrawn his candidacy from the presidential election of Georgian Basketball Federation. While explaining the reasons, the former candidacy mentioned unfair pre-election environment.

I want to say thank you to all my friends, people who helped me to fight against the injustice comes from Georgian Basketball Federation in the world of basketball. We constantly stated about this injustice, that still continues.
 
Unfortunately, we could not defeat the personal interests of some people. Consequently, with my team I made a decision not to take part in this election and my candidacy will be removed from these elections, – Shio Khetsuriani said.

After Shio Khetsuriani withdrew his candidacy, only one candidate Paata Guraspauli will fight for the position.
