Sandra Roelofs, the mayoral candidate in Zugdidi town of western Samegrelo region demands an immediate release of the member of National Movement Manuchar Chkhetia.

At the briefing held today, Sandra Roelofs has called on international organizations to observe the ongoing processes in Zugdidi.

“We demand Manuchar Chkhetia to be released. He is accused of hooliganism and disobedience. It is nonsense. During two weeks we have been holding peaceful meetings; in parallel, the police officers keep track of us and stage provocations and hinder us from holding meetings with the population. We call on international organizations to observe the ongoing processes in Zugdidi. Nobody will stop me. We continue our campaign as planned”-  Sandra Roelofs said.

Three members of the National Movement party were detained in Zugdidi yesterday, two of them have been already released.
