Salome Zurabishvili: I wish the coming year to be a year of unity and solidarity

I wish the coming new year to be a year of unity and solidarity, – President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili stated in her New Year address.

“Dear fellow citizens, Happy New Year! I wish you happiness, success, and peace in your families and country! 2019 has ended with our unity and the result of that unity! Vazha Gaprindashvili’s example enables us to think that despite the tension or polarization, we are still able to unite around a common goal. This is the event that we should think about this New Year and believe that wherever we unite, we can do everything!

I wish the coming new year to be a year of unity and solidarity. I argue everyone to refrain from using hate speech and humiliation as much as possible because this negative energy has already returned to us quite a lot. I wish the 2020 year not to be the year of abductions, but the year of open checkpoints and free movement of our citizens throughout the Georgian territory until the unification of the country”, – the President said.
