Russia confirms 4, 829 new COVID-19 cases

Russia confirmed 4,829 new coronavirus infections on Friday, bringing the country’s official number of cases to 980,405.

According to Interfax, Russia’s total case count currently stands at 980,405, 16,914 patients earlier diagnosed with Covid-19 have died, and 798,466 have recovered (+5,905 in the past day).

Moscow reported 654 new Covid-19 cases, ten coronavirus-related deaths, and 1,280 recoveries in the past day, the headquarters said.

The head of a remote Siberian region has contracted the coronavirus a second time in what may be Russia’s first documented case of reinfection.

According to data from the Russian Federal Service for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor), Russia has already conducted more than 35.7 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests, including 327,000 in the past 24 hours. A total of 209,437 people remain under medical observation.
