A protest rally is underway in Minsk. Several have already been arrested, reports Belarusian media. Some protesters lie face down on the asphalt in the centre of Minsk.

Since morning, the police have tightened security in the centre of Minsk. Reportedly, a metro station in the Independence Square has closed.

Demonstrations in Minsk has been underway for more than 20 days. The protesters are demanding President Lukashenko’s removal.
