President- Speaking with a lisp to Russia did not bring anything good to those countries, which tried to calm Russia

Speaking with a lisp to Russia did not bring anything good to those countries, which tried to calm and hush up Russia, – President of Georgia Giori Margvelashvili said during his speech at the round-table meeting “For Peace and Security – 10 years after 2008 Georgia-Russia  War”.

“Even with the most pragmatic experiences we can see that with a lisp to Russia did not bring anything good to those countries, which tried to calm and hush up Russia. And those who are trying to achieve the feeling that it is possible to be finished with one or two mouthfuls. The aggressor’s appetite increases on the steps of the invasion and aggression,” Margvelashvili said.

As for what Georgia has been doing for the last 10 years and what the country’s strategy is, the President says that the strategy is the same: “Georgia knows the Russian plans, which started on the very first day of independence, and it is to stop Georgia with any mechanism that will create a difficulty for the country.”

“Our response to Russia’s position is following : We will not stop in terms of development of the country or the further development of democracy or the integration into the European Union or the NATO integration.

The second important point is that Georgia will never consider restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty using forceful methods,” President Margvelashvili said.
