Georgian President awards five scientists

President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili awarded five Georgian scientists on the Mother Language Day marked on April 14.

Professor Enriko Gabidzashvili received the Order of Honor for prolific work in Georgian-Byzantine ecclesiastic writings.

The Order of Honor also went to the scientist Vakhtang Elerdashvili for the Georgian language purity protection and its transformation into a digital space.

Maia Darchia and Lela Zhorzholiani received awards for teaching the Georgian language abroad.

President awarded Zakaria Purtskhvanidze with Order of Honor for the popularization of the Georgian language in Germany.

Zourabichvili congratulated Georgians living in Georgia and abroad on Mother Language Day. President urged everybody to protect their mother tongue.

“This is a sign of hope for a great future, statehood strengthening, unification and the worthy return to the European family,” Salome Zourabichvili claimed.
