Police let protesters occupy Rustaveli Avenue

The police let protesters holding protest at parliament building in Tbilisi to occupy central Rustaveli Avenue. Protesters keep the road blocked.

Representatives of White Noise Movement are holding protest at parliament with the slogan “We are turning to the street for our freedom.”

White Noise Movement demanded resignation of high-ranking officials and announced about launch of permanent protests at a special briefing.

“Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia should resign immediately. All those responsible for May 12 special operation should be punished and politicians who believe that such moves are unacceptable should merge with Georgian Dream,” Beka Tsikarishvili, leader of the movement stated during the press conference.

Eight drug sellers were arrested in “Basiani” and “Gallery” Night Clubs in Tbilisi late last night as a result of special operation.
